I made this while watching tv, so about 2 hours worth of work. I went ahead and normal mapped it, so it's only 164 triangles. I may take another pass at it and juice up the detail, since the budget is there.

looks like it's made out of plastic :P
Very cool for just a 64x64 texture though, the normal-map holds up well like that.
Did you do the normals generated from high poly, or from a height-map in Photoshop? Looks like with that amount of detail either route would have worked.
The colour map could do with a bit more loving! Fast stuff though, please do more!

haha, yes I made it look like a plastic toy cause I'm silly. :P
modeled this for the normal map:

I could have done better, but I was watching my favorite show, so this really only got commercial time.

Since my last lightsaber looked like a toy, I spent more time on this one.

nice work on the normal mappy-bits, but perhaps a bit too overboard with that aspect? it looks like a universal remote lightsaber, with the grey grippy bits and the huge circular thing at the top.

Another, this is around the polygon budget and has normal maps only (currently)

a little spec/diffuse action

The polycount is still a bit over budget, but I optimized the materials down to 2x128x128.
Here's the materials for anyone interested. I think they are still a bit sloppy

Really like this one.
Sweet job on getting that much mileage out of 2 128s! You just blew my mind.

little more work on the beam. Looks like a rocket engine, a bit of a side effect, but it looked so hot I had to keep it.
