sorry I'm late.
Not sure if this follows the theme correctly, but what the hell.

Thanks animatr. As for functionality, I went through about a dozen legs sketches, and two erasers until I loaded it into photoshop and painting these. I'm not happy with them but I don't have much time or polygons left. The other tries were more clockpunk. I wanted to avoid the thin knobbing limbs of most designs.
dur23: Oh come on. There's enough boobies on polycount already (and cock). I want to see the reaction of texturing pubes, plus I couldn't think of a reason to add undies. I intend for the legs to imitate the shape of a dress for aesthetic purposes. She's seductive as a lady and creepy like a spider.

Kick ass! An extra week. That's cool because last night I was working on the torso and my gf's hairdryer tripped a breaker and caused my computer to shut off before I saved. Now she must make it up to me by modeling her new corset as reference. Revenge is sweet.
Just thought I'd share that due to sudden lose of said progress.

I really like the proportions of those legs. You know, she kind of reminds me of the doll-headed spider thing from Toy Story. Was that an inspiration?

It wasn't actually. But you're the second person to ask. :P
I have very little time to work on this now because of other projects, so at this point I'm just speeding through with a very small chance of finishing. Goodbye quality.

I probably have a total of 2 hours work on her now. If I can't get the head designed and the whole model mapped by tomorrow, I'm done.

I was putting the last details for modeling and made a boo boo, XSI crashed and I lost 30 mins of work. This was my last save. I'll try to wrap it up tomorrow and hopefully still make the end of the week.

Looking good. It seems like youre really gonna have to push if you wanna finish in time. Hell, I dont know if I'll finish in time. Anyways, good luck. Hopefully we'll get at least one entry in for this thing

A three day crunch for me to get through this last texturing phase. I still plan on finishing. Good thing it's the weekend. I've forced myself into a frequent stretching/exercise routine to help me get through this and my other tasks comfortably. My arms were beginning to feel numb in the mornings.
This is starting to feel like a career.

Looks good. Too bad I missed this one, I'm nowhere near as fast as you. This would make a nice UT character.

It's looking really nice.
I find I need to stretch my wrists often. I sit down on my knees and lean forward on my palms, turning them around so that the fingers are pointing backward. I then straighten my arms, lean into it, and count to 100. Then I stretch my wrists the opposite way, by leaning on the back of my hands with the fingers pointing in towards each other. I find that this stretches out the forearms really well and prevents Carpal Tunnel.

No texture update yet. I've set all my hard edges (smoothing groups), and have been playing around with rendermaps to use as overlays. This program kicks ass.
Weiser: Thanks dude. But, I'm nowhere close to as fast as I want to be. Also, I'm finishing a second model for a mod that's slowing me down a bit. After this, I'd like to try the CGchat contest...but that's cutting it close.
Cork: Good routine. My wrists are poppin like crazy right now, so I think it's time to stretch and switch over to my tablet for the rest of the night.

Several hours of studying and practicing color theory and skin tones. This is the best I can do for now. I'd like to thank Bobo, Poop, and Enayla for their tutorials.

Self-Illuminated with Sprite node.
Tomorrow morning I research the wonderful world of texturing metals.

Aw shucks, tweren't nothin. Looking nice so far man. I think you might want to beef up the saturation in a few parts of her eye. Especially since you seem to be going for more of an anime esque glossy eye. It just seems very grey and washed out in the iris.

Thanks killing.
Guess I should have followed your eye tutorial as well Poopster. I've updated her a bit, but this is about the most of it. Some unexpected events have set me back. I'm going to take an extra day or so to work on the metal. I'll post another pic soon, maybe in PnP where there are more people, before I start on the next challenge.
*cough* kub *cough cough* ...Sunday.
