I've been practising my digital painting, so I'll try to make a full concept with color.

I'll post more heads of mad scientists tomorrow, then I'll go on to matching a figure to a head.....generally, I find it easier to draw a character if I know it's character, meaning the head......despite what Iain McCaig says.

Cool start here. I like the variations you've come up with.
That's just Tommy Lee Jones, though, not a mad scientist!

Something more original would be more respectable.
Regrardless, you've got some nice drawings there.

I'm having trouble thinking up more concepts, but I'll give it one more try tonight.....at some point I'll have to settle with what I have and make a figure with these heads.

I'd pick three, rough out a quick bodyshape and posture, and pick the best of them for detail.

Great work, nice loose lines.

Your sketching style reminds me alot of Bill Sienkiewicz. Nice line work and still full of loose sketchy goodness.

Thanks! Bill Sienkiewicz is a protege of Neal Adams. I admire Neal Adams work, so there's probably a correlation.

Some people say Neal Adams is outdated, but that's like saying Syd Mead is outdated.

Thanks! But ewwwwwww.

The whole point of concept art is to make it appealing....this don't look appealing. I'm gonna have to do the witch doctor thingy....I guess.

Here's a preliminary.

I get a better feeling from this concept, so I'm going with it.

Basically, I was disappointed with the cripled tank tread guy, so I'm moving on to the head chopping cannibal guy.

OK, improved or improvised line art.....mo'better then thumbnail anyway.

I'll start digital coloring using MultiLayer in Photoshop.

Only problem I see with the witch doctor is how busy the face is compared to the rest of the sketch

I just realized this probably isn't the most politically correct concept......even though it's Polynesian/South American stuff.

Submitted 11:15 pm Sunday PST.

Couldn't do a Side Back view due to making a lot of goof ups.

Those are suppose to be face plates in his ears and bottom lip....I was thinking South American....but I think that's African.
