I'm sorta bored, and these sort of threads are always fun. Sometimes I can discover a new group through them, and I love finding new bands.

Anyway, my current rotation is:

Clan of Xymox - Notes From the Underground
Das Ich - Re_Laborat
Belle Morte - The Quiet
The Damned - Grave Disorder
Fields of the Nephilim - The Fallen
Seabound - Poisonous Friend (Single)
and
An Android future Mix Cd(Features groups like VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, and The Crüxshadows)

Tes: What's so strange about that? Looks like a perfectly acceptable mainstream radio playlist .

Hm, CDs? I don't use CDs for anything but games which reminds me that I should get some cracs to end that annoying disc shuffling.

AAAAAAHHH!!! hehe

Internet radio gives me my music fix these days, but I am starting to update my CD rack.

Megadeth - The System Has Failed (I've lost track how many times I've listened to this album in the weeks that I've had it. A step back to the early days when rock provided the anthems we still enjoy today.)

Soilwork - Figure Number Five (made in Sweden. nuff said.)

Fear Factory - Archetype (just delivered this morning. another band making the wise decision to return to a sound that worked for them, before nu-metal went mainstream.)

Green Day - American Idiot (punk normally bores the hell out of me. but this is an album I can chill out to. good mix of tunes for the post-Blink182-shit-trash-crap era. i feel guilty calling it punk, it's that good.) *hides*

Slayer - Reigning Blood (I alternate between this and the new Still Reigning DVD...which is fucking awesome! A timeless classic, and a good warm up exercise for guitar I might add.)

Oi! You'd better hide!

But seriously, I used to be a serious metal head in my youth, and eventually it just began boring me to tears. The slow grinding riffs and Cookie Monster Truck vocals just got old. I gravitated more and more toward speed metal, which in reality is very similar to a lot of hardcore and street punk. Check out the Casualties for a good example of this.

A lot of people think of bands like Blink 182 as punk. But the fact is that Blink 182 is to punk what a band like Europe or Cindarella is to metal. Emo is not punk. It's the butt rock of the punk world. I hate most emo garbage as much as anything, at it offends me that it even slips into online punk radio stations playlists. It's like mixing Testament and Slayer with Vixen and Great White. It just ain't right.

Listen to some good Oi! streetpunk, or some good hardcore, and it'll set you straight.
