I installed this junk last week and it was actually kind of cool, the whole security center thing, but service pack2 f*cks up my mose sensitivity making it impossible to use Maya. I thought my mouse had just worn out but it turns out it is service pack2, I have uninstalled the service pack and now my mouse works fine again, also I installed service pack2 on my girlfriend's computer downstairs and the same problem occurs. The mouse sensitivity is messed up if you move the mouse diagonally down right slowly, the mouse moves but the pointer on screen does not, extremely lame for precision work in Maya, I have a logitech 3 button mouse, no wheel. Just a warning if you have installed service pack2 and you feel like your mouse is just not quite the same you know where to look.

Yeah, I've avoided installing it becuase of rumors that there are issues with SP2 and AMD processors, which is what I have.

Isn't there also some big issue with SP2 and Max7?

I've seen no problem with the AMDs and SP2. Max5,6,7 and SP2 don't get along when it comes to the Render To Texture function. I'd check for an updated driver from logitech to fix the mouse problem. I've never seen that problem before, and we get three or four machines a day in for clean installs.

I also had problems with Photoshop 5 LE, Frontpage, and a couple other things that cleared up as soon as I uninstalled SP2.

TechSmith, yeah I should have mentioned this if you install the logitech mouse driver it fixes the problem, I couldn't use their sensitivity tuner to get quite what I was used to, it is the default WinXP mouse driver that is some how corrupted by service pack2

I thought max 7 had no render to texture problems? Max 5 and 6 are fubar when you try RTT with SP2.

I may be in error about about Max7. It's been awhile since I've been to the discreet boards.
