Rockstar is releasing them to the public. I guess GTA has been out for some time, but they just released GTA 2.

I remember playing GTA when it first came out, it was great even then as a top-down 2D game. The car physics were what really impressed me, and the open ended gameplay which is of course what the series is still known for.

i played gta1 when they released it for free. that was the first time i've ever gotten a BSOD on windows XP.

GTA2 was great memories for me, i used to make custom car sprites for that game, and used to play the laggy multiplayer with buddies all day long

yea GTA 2 was the best GTA game ever. I mean what can be better then picking up a school bus of children and puttin them in a meat grinder to be made into hot dogs. And the soccer moms thought GTA 3 was bad!
