I won't repeat much that's already said here
http://forum.deviantart.com/community/art/324432/
Yeah, i'm trying to be as correct to anime anatomy as I could for him (Yeah it's a garg, so what if i want to model him again or a similar character with his arms right, correct pose and such), for future reference, but I just can't seem to find that "reference". No wonder my other model looks screwed up with arms like that :O
And I do know that there's no direct FB ortho ref out there, but there needs to be one with this sort of anatomy.
self.giveup == 1;
google.failed == true;
google.image_search.failed == true;
EDIT: Yes, i've checked the good ol' ref thread and still have no luck, well if I had luck i wouldn't have posted this otherwise.

Why dont you have a look at some of the characters from the Capcom/SNK games? Its just a tall muscled guy after all.

Get standard anatomy refs. Anime is founded on realism.

Actually its not as bad as it seems imho it nails general features pretty well and with little creativity you can base a good model off of it.

Improved a bit.

I've been studying hard for accuracy to his frame and kept sketching his anatomy out. I'm planning on modeling him like a third time now...
UPDATE: Added side ref too

Like they said. It's just exagerated human anatomy. I've made this suggestion hundreds of times to you. Your gargoyle fetish is on a disturbing level, that of mentaly insane people. If you ever expect to be an artist, even to be one that only models gargoyles. You must study other things. Learn the human form, learn modeling techniques for organic modeling, EVEN IF THEY DONT APPLY TO GARGOYLES. Your killing yourself mentaly trying to get the perfect model sheets, when human reference exsists everywhere. Take pictures of yourself for human reference, or check fineart.sk, anything. Just get help, serious help.

quite frankly i don't give a mad ass fuck if you model gargoyles your whole life.
i will tell you tho, that that gargoyle is human anatomy that's just exadurated. you need to get human antomy. if you dont want to model a human i'm not going to cry about it, but you're still going to need human anatomy to model that gargoyle, if you dont want to have to re-do it 10 times.

Mind you I do actually have a human ref in the background while sketching, i'm not out to get every detail (he's cartoon, so um yeah i'm all covered for now.)
I really haven't worked on the model sheet for awhile now, been busy doom wadding.

A Cartoon is a bad reference, because you are just tracing someone else's anatomy mistakes, unless you are trying to make a model of that particular cartoon. Seriously CheapAlert. try modelling other things like people, cars, buildings and trees, and do them well, and then people will take notice.
