Beats me, because it's still fucking locked. Have I mentioned that I don't like Steam?

Mine started unlocking at 8am GMT.
My flatmate's didn't, until he rebooted. Odd!
85% unlocked... and it's 10 past 8... bloody slow thing.
Have I mentioned I'm impatient?

Sheesh. Just found out that if you already had Steam open, it won't unlock. Need to restart Steam in order to begin unlocking. I'm sure this was documented absolutely nowhere...

Okay, been playing it for a bit. Too early to form an opinion, but the physics sure are fun. On the other hand, does anyone think the textures seem surprisingly compressed or low-res? Hm.

Can't wait to play it! But first I am gonna finish NFS Underround 2 which I like very much.
Gamespot's 4 page HL2 review sounded good and came across objective. They gave it a 9.2
IGN gave it a whopping 9.7 and I felt that they were a little bit too happy to be playing the game at the Valve office
With scores like that I assume that it will be good fun.

yeah I saw that 9.2 Gamespot. A significantly higher score went to Halo2, and that was dissapointing in my mind. Oh well, I guess I'll try and pick Half Life 2 up tommorow to see If it was worth waiting 5 years for.

go to sleep your dorks
its 430 am here in virginia and mine is still unlocking
. fun fun indeed ;/
ok its been done for a while now and after playing a bit i have to say it looks very awesome.
hell it is awesome. some of the textures in the world are a bit low res but as a whole the environments and charaacters are second to none i think. it certainly has more flair than stuff i have been playing lately.
coolness. i hope that it remains this way throughout

[/ QUOTE ]NFS-U2 looks a bit "uglier" in terms of the world-textures' quality, but beats it in any other way..
It's like a little bit of GTA3, with a portion of GT, and a bucketload of NFS!

I got enough games to finish, I'll skip on HL2 for now.

I'm wondering how it'll run with my GFX 5200 because I'm regretting getting the low end version. I had trouble with Doom 3, but I heard that HL2 is pretty scalable.
Other specs are AMD64 2.0ghz, 1gb ram.

and what's so happy about, mistah smeeee~?
my entire friggin preload of the game at home had to be scrapped cause of a hdd error. so i redownloaded the game at 4am and ended up sleeping til worked started.. now at work, where i thought i'd preloaded it, I hadn't, and it's taken nearly an hour to get 3% downloaded. and this is on a supposedly uber-fast connection.. *grumble grumble*.. friggin crappy release of this game for me, which is the exact opposite of what it was looking to be up until the last minute.
Currently out of the game industry, trying to find my way back...
