Gersh and I both started with Aiptek tablets, they arent wacoms, but they are tablets. I know mine works, and gersh thinks his works. If you have a younger sibbling interested in game art, or you are a youngster yourself and cant afford a wacom, just email me me poop at poopinmymouth dot com, tell me a bit about you, and preferably send me 5-10 bux over paypal to cover the shipping costs. they are usb, 9x12 check out www.aiptek.com for more info.

How well do they work for digital painting compared to the wacoms? Comparable to the Graphires? For that price, I'd like to try their 6 x 8. I've been begging for years to get a Wacom, but damn they're expensive. I'm too embarrased to join any more sketch groups using a mouse.

Ely: I bought an Aiptek for the same reason ($$$) a few years ago and don't have any complaints. If you're on a budget, I think an Aiptek is a good alternative to a Wacom.

Don’t do it, they break really, really fast. I give it two months before its dead. Mine was broken before I even learned how to texture... its sad... Maybe after two years they have made them better so they don’t break. I don’t know but just make sure if your going to get one to get the extra warranty on it.
