[UE4] Ballroom

Hey folks!

After watching the teaser for the next-gen Assassin's Creed I wondered what the ballroom you see at the beginning would look like in UE4. So I did a little over the weekend project and here's the result, hope you enjoy :]

Iam blown away by the level of detail on the materials. Holy crap especially on the painting. UE4 seems to perform really well for ArchVis ^^.

Amazing work man! I love the materials, but I'm specially impressed by the lighting. Did you used a skylight or just directional/point lights? Could you share some tips about lighting in UE4?

Looks great, especially for a weekend project! My only crit is the reflectivity of the floor. I don't know the proper specular/roughness value, but it looks like you used the same specular value as the marble column which doesn't seem right imo. :thumbup:

Thanks for all the kind words, really appreciate it!

As for the lighting, I used one directional light and a few point lights to highlight certain things. Regarding the floor, I know it looks really glossy but that's just the way these kind of floors tend to look, see the photo ref:

Great job, but that ceiling really pulls away from the rest of the space.

Consider treating it with some gold relief work and curves in the corners.

They are indeed very shinny. Not this shinny though

Just try to tap the gloss like 2-3% lower. It will give the floor a more natural fell, I guarantee it!

Great use of materials, and that painting, OMG man! I find it MUCH better than original AC room. The only thing I'm concerned about is... the fact that reflections on the floor kinda pop up when the camera rotates (this can be viewed starting at 0:27, just look on the floor to the right). Is it a UE4 limitation, or it's the way these reflections actually work? I'm just curious about it, it still looks gorgeous!
