The Deadly Nightshade Set
Update _03_12
Finally the entry:
Hi Everyone,
A late find but a happy one, it's a pleasure to be joining this community and contest.
After some research and testing, I think I can put myself up for the challenge.
I believe Nyx Assassin deserves a revamp concept.
Here's one fearsome and efficient armor and weapon set summoned by the vitriolic fear and protective instinct of Nyx, after her sons birth. The Deadly Nightshade:
Regards,
Chris Neto
Update _17_11
Final Sculpt and Paint
I ended up choosing gold over silver. The set comes from the gods after all...

Neat concept! Our team is also working on a Nyx Assassin costume set.
One thing I'd suggest is to have the armor look more smooth once it's actually textured, unless a rough look was the main idea. The two blades on each arm is a cool concept as well, but you should really be mindful of the polygon count for them.

Aw man, the set I'm working on is also to be called "Deadly Nightshade", although it's for a different assassin. I hope there's no conflict with item set names...
Anyway, I dig the concept and keep it up!

Thanks,
_Sure, the texture should be ok as I'm a painter, it's just that I like to work on ruff sketches, it gives more freedom during the process . Regarding polycount, that was my first issue, so the first thing I did was to make sure it was possible. From what I gather, anything is possible really.
_I've got no Idea about naming conventions... I'm sure it'll be sorted out. To be honest, I thought a lot about it and due to Nyx I was pending too much towards greek mythology, so I kept it simple.
By the way, I've see a similar issue on other threads, my images won't show up on the post (at least for me), anyone knows the reason...?

Yea, let's hope so--I have a hard time figuring out names as well.

I've noticed that too. Perhaps, instead of attaching it, you might want to link your images from a host--otherwise, maybe after you post your attached image, you can copy it's URL, then delete the line for the image and replace it with the Insert Image, using that copied URL and publish it that way--maybe that might help? (if it made any sense at all!)

Thanks. Updated, they can be seen now. The method you suggested, only gives thumbnails. It seems like the best way is to link them from outside.

Looking good man, I would suggest to make the highpoly details much bigger, and add more depth to them. If you look at it ingame, it would be extremely hard to see those details.

Wow....this set would totally make me want to play this character more. Looking absolutely amazing! So far as the highpoly details, are you planning to make them a much more contrasting color perhaps? That would also make them stand out better, though I agree with BenHenry that they could be bigger with more depth as well. Still love where this is going!

Final painted High Poly.
Thanks for the comments. I had a version with the inscriptions bigger but it didn't look good. For such details I think it's better for them to be there as a suggestion otherwise it might turn out ugly.
Lets see if I can manage the masks for the right appearance. So far it's been a bit tricky. Also I had to do a rigid skin bind, as I was getting a lot of distortion.
I better get my hands on the remaining pieces of the set...

created Nyx model
on 04-08-2013 11:45 AM
Hi, This model needs to be tweeked to mach some specifications. I am in the process of doing some implementations towards the requirements of the developer's team for Dota2. I hope to be able to provide an acceptable finished model in the near future. You will be able to try it then.
I know it's been some time but I have some deadlines to attend to, and I should be able to get back to Nyx in a couple of weeks...
Thanks for your patience.
