After looking at your portfolio, you were guranteed to get a job by just walking in to any game company and apply. ^.^
Parasite: Thanks! I really like doing a lot of hand-painted work so I'm glad you think so. I'm going to GDC this year and plan on stopping by the Blizz booth. I applied for a few internships for summer. You going to be there? I'm hoping to meet Choa and a few others as well.
Nitewalkr: I try to keep a humble attitude about my work. There's always more to learn every day. I've barely started on my journey and I'm more excited about the next few years than the now.

congrats man...glad to see peeps getting some jobs! Hopefully there will be more of these threads coming this year and less of "oh my shit....another studio closed" threads
3DRyan: Just 100% hand-painted textures helps make your model seem less like a 3D model and more like a... 3D piece of 2D art . It takes a little love to get it right. There aren't a whole lot of drastic changes in the geometry in the Y (or Z in Maya) axis, so cast shadows aren't entirely apparent.
I'm going to be doing a little spin of the swords in my demo reel so you see them in THREEDEE.

Question, how did you come up with the look for the sword on your site? It doesn't look 3D in those pics. Some sort of lighting trick? I MUST KNOW.
