Any good scattering/painting plugins for max (like object paint).

Hi

Im wondering if there are any good scattering/object painting plugins for 3Ds max, kind of like object paint. Object paint is not an option as it gives me bad and innaccurate resaults.

Its mainly to paint leaves on branches etc.

Edit, i just noticed that 3Ds 2015 has been released. I have also heard it comes with some kind of new object paint. Anyone tried it?

I've just recently made a bunch of grass clumps and branches using object paint. I think it's pretty awesome. What issues are you actually having with it?

@Wesley leaves not being placed correctly on the branch (not a pivot problem) and overall little controll in how they are placed.

Object paint is for scattering and randomizing, the new "select and place" is an update of an old feature that was burried in max and kind of difficult to use. Now it's much more out in the open and a whole lot more precise than object paint, but you're placing each object one at a time.

Have you tried using particle effects to populate the surface of tree or branches with leaf meshes? You can control where they go with a vertex paint mask. There's a lot you can do with it to define where the leafs go and how big they are.
