Hi everyone, I need a bit of advice. I'm working on an asset that utilizes a simple 1024 diffuse map. The asset has two small walkways that will use an alpha punch. My question is, would it be ok to include the parts with the alpha in the 1k map as a whole or should I break them off on their own in a small map?

either or, it would olny make sense to spilt that part off, if you could re-use that part somewhere else without the rest of the map.

Also in general, alpha is expensive. Alpha-tested geo is still more expnsive than normal geo, though not by a lot. If you have the vert count to spare and the original alpha object isn't too detailed, you can just model out the object instead and use an opaque texture on it.
