black lines in the 3ds max viewport

How can I get 3dsmax to not render out this black line in the view port or in my renders. I like doing render to texture and these lines come with http://www.polycount.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=30164&stc=1&d=1436818381it.

This looks extremely low poly, where is positioned the light?

Are you using some texture?

Create a light and this should go away.

The default 2-lighting setup will add this shading line, because the two lights are coming from directly opposite angles, which causes an unlit area for any parts of the surface that point perpendicular to those lights.

If that doesn't do it, also try a Reset Xform, as this could be a wonky transform.

also smoothing groups/vertex normals depict how shading is in your viewport.

BTW:
You can change to single default liighting by editing the corresponding defaults in your "CurrentDefaults.ini" ( check the "Custom UI and Defaults switcher which one is relevant to your setup, or simply change in every "CurrentDefaults.ini" you can find )

The corresponding line is

SingleDefaultLight=1

Where "1" enables single default light of course ...

2 point shading is the pest, i can#t understand how people can work with that, it destroys any readability
