Looking for PBR Characters/Creatures

Hey there, Im looking for some PBR textured characters/creatures specially with the metalness method, but Im having trouble finding them (just for learning and have examples of texture maps and how they look on creatures).

Is there any reason?

And do you guys have some examples?

You're going to need to give some more information about what exactly you want these assets for. If you're looking for learning materials, I believe Marmoset provide a bunch of models, but I believe they use Spec/Gloss if I'm not mistaken. If you need something particular, you're going to have to buy it or make it really.

Check the 3d showcase subforum, there's a thread in there where people give away models, its possible that there's a PBR asset in there.

Aw shit, I forgot to mention its to showcase features, I want examples, I dont want to use them, just for learning, and Im having trouble finding creatures done in PBR (metalness or specular)

There's 3 on the marmoset viewer, you can look at the textures using the top right button and then clicking on the texture you want to see. http://viewer.marmoset.co/test/gdcgallery.html

You don't get to see the texture sheet, but seeing it on the model should be good enough.

Thanks guys, looking at the characters on the marmoset site, they seem to be using PBR specular, is it possible to achieve the same result with PBR metalness?

and do you guys have some examples of more organic creatures created in pbr? like a alien thingy or something like that

I can find humans/robots but I cant find animals etc..

Basically, all you need to do to "visually" convert a specular into a metallness is anything dark gray to black in reflectivity would be black in the metalness, any other color would be the color you put in the albedo or base_color for the metal areas, and they'd be white in the metalness map, it's a pretty easy conversion. For an animal, the metalness map would be completely black unless it's wearing some type of metal. For skin, you'll probably want to use a shader with sub surface scattering.

Thanks guys, I already know the theory (awesome links earth, I have been this past week reading them over and over again haha thanks for doing them!)

I was just looking for some examples to show my boss how a creature would look in the pbr system, and I was only able to found humanoid/robot stuff.

ZacD anwser could be the one, to use a pbr shader with sub surface scattering to give the skin more "feel".

There's also an example creature project in substance painter that uses Metal/Roughness for you to see. Just download the trial and open it up!
