Environment Artist
We're looking for a candidate with a passion for artistic, experimental games. Your job will be to flesh out our game world with a wide variety of art assets in order to create a memorable visual experience for the player.
Responsibilities
  • Model game-ready 3D environment assets for use in Unreal4 using provided concept art or reference material.
  • Paint great looking textures in the appropriate style from reference materials or from scratch.
Necessary Skills
  • Solid 3D modeling and texturing skills. Lighting skills are a plus.
  • Ability to implement clean, efficient geometry for maximum performance in the engine.
  • Knowledge of Maya and zBrush.
  • Knowledge of Unreal4 is a big plus.
  • Ability to produce both realistic and stylized assets.
  • One or more shipped non-student titles a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.


Animator
We're looking for an animator who likes doing a bit of everything. As our sole animator you'll be bringing life to the game, and will have a hand in everything that moves.

An ideal candidate will be able to handle a range of animation, layout and technical animation tasks. We are looking for creative, off the beaten path animators able to conceptualize animation systems and work with team members to implement these set-ups in Unreal.
Responsibilities
  • Support design to create thoughtful, nuanced animations that deepen the player’s understanding of the story.
  • Work closely with technical art and code to develop game animation systems that allow the player to feel connected to the world.
  • Ability to organize and present works in progress to the team for review.
  • Import animations and create associated Animation Assets in Unreal4.
  • Be a champion for Giant Sparrow’s animation asset Pipeline.
Necessary Skills
  • Understanding game-centric animation practices and standards.
  • Flexibility, and willingness to iterate quickly and plan for polish tactically.
  • Desire to learn new things and work towards a set of standards for systems still in development.
  • Strong Maya Background (Python/MEL Scripting is a Plus).
  • Rigging and skinning experience, or a willingness to learn and share these tasks with our Technical Artist is a big plus.
  • One or more shipped non-student titles a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
