Poor Hideo, no one will let him do anything else. I wonder if he despises the Metal Gear-shaped cage his fame has built him.
I liked the fact that for once we could retire a major series - at least Snake! But no, who am I kidding. Such is business.
Interesting if this will *actually* depart in gameplay from previous installments and not just PR hot air.

Yes, poor Hideo. He's only one of the most famous persons in our industry, creator of one of the most well known and respected game franchises ever, poor Hideo.
Dude, business is gonna be business, you're gonna get CoD titles as long as they sell for instance. And as long as people crave Metal Gear titles, konami will make them, with or without Kojima.

he was here in frankfurt recently and did mention that he'd rather work in small teams again and on something fresh, so i guess you're not too far off the mark.
since he is a VP at konami however, you'd think he does accept the business rationale behind keeping the IP alive though.
