Hello,

I've been having some problems with normals. I've read the wiki here and read some threads about how to do this right, but seams like I never get it correctly.

I've split the UV's and added one different Smoothing Group for each Polygon, but still, I got the black edge problem. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance for the support!

I once got these edges when baking in XNormal without a cage.
A proper cage fixed it.

what are you baking in?

Max and xnormal will both split projections like this and require a cage. In max that is really easy to set up. In xnormal it is more difficult.

I've tried in Modo and in xNormal with cage. But maybe I'm not setting the cage correctly in xNormal?

Is there someway to do this in Modo correctly?

EDIT: Tried again and with xNormal cage it's fine! But still, anyone know a way to do this in Modo?

Is your low-poly smaller than or larger than the beveled version?

Try it again with Xnormal and make your cage a bit larger.

With xNormal it works with the cage. Now, I want to know if it's possible to do this with Modo?

How come Modo doesnt support baking with a cage? they really need to put that on there.

but anyway, I would just recommend you stick with xnormal, is better in almost every way anyway!

There are requests for that... Anyway I keep my question. :P
If anyone who uses Modo knows the best way to bake this type of things, any help would be appreciated!

So the corners of the lowpoly were visible outside of the highpoly?
