Hi! everyone, I need to create a tileable rice alpha like the one I post for various purposes, I been trying to use some of the multimesh tools to spray a model, but since any multimesh tool supports that fuction I was not able to achive my goal. Any suggestions?

You could just convert the image to greyscale in photoshop, then back to RGB to get rid of the colour, then you could use the offset filter to retouch the image till it tiles, import into ZBrush and you are done.

R7 will have a tool designed for this.
    • Until then you could sculpt a few grains (3-5, just for some variation in shape). Turn them into a single IMM brush (you can set it up to randomize or cycle which grain it uses).
    • Create a few tools that just have these grains loosely scattered around (use the IMM brush on a plane, only draw out 2-6 grains, then delete the plane). Repeat until to have 2 or 3 tools.
    • Draw out these tools on a tiling 2.5d document.
