I've been exploring different techniques in Photoshop. I get easily confused.
I have became a huge fan os Ankama in the meantime. Their stuff is so pretty
I used a soft round brush through all of the process. I love it. I always used to avoind the soft brush, but I am getting more comfortable with it.

What is the best way to learn portraits? I seem to be unable to catch the right shapes and life in the drawing and it always is a struggle with continuous fixing of issues.
What are the best ways to practice this? I also have huge problems with detailing as my color and brushstroke control is terrible, any good exercises for this as well will be highly appreciated.

Some updates. Trying to learn all the things. Edge control, anatomy, light. (also workflows) So damn confusing.
The topic was Police Force from 2099. This is the third version. THis last one was inspired by Panty and Stocking. Did not nail the style at all (well, maybe the colors), but their lines are so aggresive, mine are not.
The second is a speedpaint. I wanted to emulate the style in Duelyst artworks. I think this one went pretty well. Learning environments seems to be a bit easier for now than working on characters. I spend the wast majority of my time working on my characters though. So maybe I am just better trained at spotting what is wrong.

My trial on 3ds max ends in 4 days. Any ideas on what I may do? I cannot afford the subscription. What are good alternatives? I already have Blender, if that is the best solution.

I made these whilst obsessing over Onepunch-Man. Needed to kill time in between episodes.
those are all referenced from either the manga or the anime (I wish I was so good with shapes on my own).
I have also completed a mentorship with Anthony Jones. Literally the best month of my life. Unfortunately my tablet started not working (that was back in November) and I still cannot get it back to work properly. It is super frustrating not to mention that I have an appointment with a neurologist Tomorrow because my hand is going to hell as well (I seriously hope there are pills for that so I have no stupid excuse, but drawing has been a real issue lately - you can see it on the wobbly lineart which is partly caused by the broken tablet driver and partly due to the tremors in my hand)

I get so easily lost in the volumes. Especially when they are wobbling back and forth, which looks bad in real time, but seems ok when I scroll through them on the timeline.

looking for crits especially on the last one. I want to add colors and improve it in pretty much all areas. I just don't know if it is any good anymore. I kinda learned a lot with it (I know they are not perfect but the legs and the pose in general has been a problem for me for a long time) So on one hand I am pleased that I managed to tackle those issues, but on the other hand I cannot discern whether I am pleased by my progress or by the objective quality of the piece.
