Implementing Custom/Edited Text with Localisation

I'm Currently using a Custom Font called "Foo" to draw any Text and Numbers to the screen in Unity. It uses the a default font file so it can be localized to different languages.

The Problem is were are restricted to the Text and cannot edit it at all.
Ideally what I want is the ability to use a custom text with a few effects such as stroke at 50% transparency while still having it localize to different languages.

Here is an Image of the difference between how it looks in Photoshop compared to Unity currently.

Any Ideas, Solutions, Plugins or Information on how to do this would be great! I don't really want to spend $30+ just to get this working so free/ cheap solutions would be Ideal
