Senior Illustrator - Jagex Game Studios
Position: Senior Illustrator
Location: Cambridge, UK
Jagex Ltd, a world leading independent Online Games Studio, is looking for a self-motivated Senior illustrator to produce art work to help market its flagship title, RuneScape.
Working as part of a small team of illustrators & graphic designers, you will be responsible for producing rapid, highly polished pieces of web based promotional art to help aid RuneScapes demanding marketing schedule. You will need to concept creative ideas for any given brief, working in collaboration with graphic designers to ensure that your artwork and their typography join harmoniously together.
This is a highly challenging role that repeatedly requires a consistent and swift turnaround on projects. Candidates must be flexible and receptive to regular feedback and criticism.
You will also be required to work closely with RuneScapes art director and project managers on a large variety of themes & tones, whilst also ensuring that your work fits in with the art style.
Successful candidates are required to have an exceptional online portfolio clearly demonstrating artistic talent and understanding of key principles anatomy, perspective, value, colour and composition.

YOU WILL
- Produce very high quality illustrations for use on websites, advertising & occasionally print.
- Work from a written brief to initial sketch concepts and final polished illustration.
- Work closely with graphic designers
- Work closely with the Lead Creative Designer, Art Director and project managers.
- Be a key creative consultant on all illustration projects
- Train, coach and share knowledge with other team members on art & photoshop techniques
YOU HAVE
- Expert skills in Photoshop and other advanced painting tools.
- Excellent understanding of anatomy.
- A good understanding of colour, value, composition and perspective.
- A strong sense of vision.
- An adaptable skillset and fast turnaround
- Great polish and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to sketch varied ideas quickly

- Experience working within the computer games industry
