[Paid] [Full Time] Toronto studio looking for in-house 3D artist and world builder

Blue Isle Studios is hiring!
www.blueislestudios.com

We are looking for a skilled world builder and 3D artist to help us out with our brand new game; a first person exploration/adventure featuring beautiful and vast outdoor worlds. We are looking for someone with a ton of passion for games development who will become a key member of our small team.

This is a full time position working from our office in downtown Toronto.

The role would primarily consist of creating props and architecture in a 3D application such as Maya or 3DSMax to fill out the game world. We are looking for someone who is also versatile enough to assist with prop placement and world building within the Unity editor. Responsibilities within Unity would consist of working with terrain, prop placement, detailing sections of levels, placing gameplay objects, setting up collision, and placing trigger areas with programmer supplied scripts.

Artistically, we’d like someone who has strong knowledge of light and color; art education is a definite plus. The ideal candidate has a portfolio demonstrating versatility in creating realistic 3D environments.

From a technical standpoint, the ideal candidate understands concepts such as minimization of draw calls and knows how to plan out strong texture atlases. Knowledge of Unity’s art asset import pipeline is important. The ability to work under triangle, texture resolution and fill rate restrictions are a must.

Being a small independent studio, this position means that you will have the opportunity to work very closely with the rest of the team. If you are interested in working with us to help create memorable gameplay experiences for years to come, we’d love to hear from you.

If interested, please submit your application with a resume and portfolio to jobs@blueislestudios.com
