Some of my historically inspired concepts

PM me if you want to work on something together. I'd prefer if you had enough time on your hands to get this done reasonably quickly, and it'd be super helpful if you knew a thing or two about historical armor as well.

I'm a huge fan of the realistic aesthetic, and I've always wanted to participate in the workshop, so here we are. These aren't exactly 1:1 representations of what I'd like to see in game, I do actually have a working knowledge of how the models function and I am aware of the fact that you can't just reshape the entire character, but it's more fun and thus more creatively stimulating for me to do it this way instead of just using the model sheets. I'm expecting to make adjustments and clarifications where necessary.

These are really neat! While I appreciate the practical approach to design for characters and armor to help them feel more grounded, these need a lot of work to fit into the actual game. The art style is so far removed from Dota that these wouldn't look right next to an in-game character, they're more likely to be seen in Dark Souls. The DK set is cool, but the small decorations you want to add like the gold trim would just be noise in game. And the proportions and style of the Golem need to be exaggerated more to fit the universe.

Some updates, first and foremost. It's been a few months and I've learned more than a few things in that time, thought I'd go back and revamp the old stuff to give you all a better picture of where I'm at atm. I got nothing but time on my hands right now so I'm expecting a lot more consistent improvement in the weeks and months to come as well.

Now that that's out of the way, I'm still looking for a partner, team, multiple partners, w/e that I can really sink some time with. Here's a few concepts for WK!

While your art and concepts are really well done and incredible, what Sukotto mentioned earlier still sort of holds true.  These would fit right into a gritty realistic fantasy world that utilizes practical designs for armor and weapons.  But Dota 2 isn't quite that with it's giant hammers and mystical wildly impratical armor.  Since everything is from a far away isometric view, everything in Dota has to be stylized and exaggerated to a certain degree that your concepts seem to be missing a bit.  And because Dota uses such small sized textures, you really should try to avoid heavy details and try and go for a slightly more minimal look.

Don't get me wrong, your concepts and paintings are awesome and are really well done!  Its just that they need to have more stylistic flair to conform to Dota 2's art style better.  Take the practical realism you have a really good grasp on and just exaggerate it and accent it into interesting shapes or forms and go crazy with it!
