Currently i'm working on this. I place all figures (some are missing right now) and after that i'll check the "noise" and make sure that overlapping people are separated better (contrast wise). Of corse shadows and color will follow and some overpaint for the girls in the foreground.

Here is some update about Mr Turtle. The lower part (where the pilot can sit) is roughly sketched and i try to find the right contrast relationship. That's why it's still in gray.

Here i a color concept. Do you like it? I first thought in making the lower side of the turtle blue - so that she's more stealthy. But it wa too strong contrast between the upper brown. I decided to ue green

turtle looks really cool, all the scale patterns turned out great.

but the texture has some weird dark spots making it look like there's some stuff casting soft shadows on it.

also it seems that bottom side is brighter than top which is strange.

Thank you for pointing that out! You are right and now i see it also I love feedback like that - which opens my eyes. Do you ment the dark areas for example at the top of the "wings"? I tried to integrate some light into the texture to give it some...volume(?) also without rendered light...

Worked on the turtle and this is the result. I'm pretty much done with painting the values and will start doing the color soon. Of course only when there is no feedback which helps me to improve the value study.

I don't like the grey feathers on his wings but other than that i think the colors on him are really great

Thank you for your feedback

Here is an update and i need your help. I tweaked the texture a but and I'm at a point where i don't know what i have to push further or if its enough. I think i'll continue with some rigging and setting up the final composition and waiting for feedback about the texture. Maybe there are some good tipps

That thing is the prove that i'm lazy and too slow when it comes to painting textures after work Hm let me check when i started this thing...oh i'm not able because the GameArtisans Forum doesn't have my thread anymore (it was a challenge in their forum). But maybe this is older than 2012
