No progress with 'Running Lightmass'

Hey.
I'm currently trying to build some very basic lighting to see if I can get the scene illuminated at all. And so far...well...nothing's happened.

The scene I've created is an imported 3ds Max environment; basically, an obelisk in the middle of a circular plane with steps leading up to it from all sides, leading off into a larger circular plane. So far, I've added a single light to check if I can build the level. I can build the level itself OK, but the lighting doesn't do anything.


This may be a large RTFM moment, but how do I go about sorting this out? I kinda need to be able to get this working for a project I'll be working on at college within the coming weeks.

Also, to all those curious, I left the lightmass running in the background, and over the last 10 minutes, it hasn't made it past a single pixel along the bar.

Basically, does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
