Hey everyone! Just graduated "Game Development" as well as wrapped up a Character Pipeline course offered by Phoenix Atelier.

I'll start by posting some of my final stills from the course then basically launch my progression of the next character on my list of things to finish

This is Starchild. The original concept was created by Kurt Papstein, but I took many liberties to personalize it.

Character WIP:

Nod Special Op's troops. Creating these for the free to play (literally no money required ever) pc title "Renegade X".

Still in the block out phase and I am trying to nail both variations of the trooper at the same time (One is a sniper class, the other a rocket soldier).

(Also my first attempt at a heavily armored sci fi character. Looking to learn of Zbrush hard surface techniques here)

I like the heavily armored character, and the lighting you used in it is awesome.

thanks! It's the lightforge material I think, I could be wrong but you can use it in your own zbrush stuff. Just need to give it a google.

-edit- that one specifically is "ice furnace" but lightforge is awesome as well.

Started the armor retopo in zbrush for the soldier as well as studying more anatomy:

Currently only at the form blockout stage with a secondary pass on the torso.

Hey man nice work, nice to see a fellow student here on polycount. Did you manage to figure out how to stop the floating geo from showing up in renders?

HEY! Fancy seeing you here haha. Ummm from what I gather its not a super big issue as you can ignore rays bouncing off backfaces in the AO bakes. The Normal maps also wont have an issue which make sense as well as whatever is floating above will override whatever is underneath. I'm sure there is a way to turn off shadow's being cast from backfaces in the max viewport as well, I just haven't thought to look into it yet. NOW I WILL!!

Working on a modular texture for an environment blockout. Hoping to nail the walls/countertops/old shelves etc.

So far I would only call the wallpaper bit "done"
