Thanks duncan!
With the life vest feels better now, I'm thinking about moving the tattoo from the right to the left arm since the details seem to be unbalanced right now.
Thanks!
Here's the tattoo design, I made the details bigger to make it less confusing at a distance and flipped it to the left arm. I'm going to bake it as a mask so I will have the freedom to tweak the skin colour as long as I want
This is looking sweet. The tattoo design is badass but I would suggest making it chunkier with bigger shapes. You can already see in the smaller game view shots you took how the shoulder still reads nicely but the biceps and triceps just get noisy.
thanks! @Turret: you are right, the biceps are less noisy now but the triceps still need to have bigger details I'm thinking about simplifying the circular shape there, maybe that will fix it.
Thanks a lot duncan! Yep it's definitely too orange, I'm going to adjust the colours later when I'm done with the bake. Yesterday night I was so sleepy that I just had the strenght to bake the body..I know that it doesn't look that good right now XD.
Hey love the concept and the texture work so far. Definitely like the color job on the right better. You may need to introduce some blue undertone to his skin so he doesn't have such a strong warm color scheme. The killerwhale floaty is just the best thing ever. I had one like that as a kid haha.
Looking strong! i have to agree the skin still looks really sunburnt red. It kinda works with the swimsuit theme but I would still bring that back a little. whale is epic!

Test pose and render of the lowpoly in zbrush, HA! And the shadow on the floor works great
If you want to do the same just BPR the model with flatshade material and the light coming from the top, save the BPR passes and compose them in photoshop

I agree with you on the detail being unbalanced.
@Goldo_O:
It's so nicely done, good job.

Edit: didn't recognize that the thread went beyond page 1
I made him a little too pink but I reckon 50:50 might be a good compromise.
I really hope you get to finish I really dig your character.
@Hellstern: That paintover actually helped me a lot! Thanks!!
Here's an update, let me know what you think about it
Also testing the colours with the bg:
