Hi all,

Here are some quick Updates for these 2 cool tools....

Unwrap Tools 1.6

This is the updated version of UnwrapTools 1.5 which was originally developed by Steve Johnson (www.chuggnut.com) and Tweaked by Diego Garcia Huerta (www.sloft.net)

What have i done with this new version. Simple....

Max 2010 has some cool new features for align and spacing in bitween edges in single click. That’s why i tweaked a code little to get back bottom unwrap holder back to life in Max 2010.

DOWNLOAD

Here is the ScreenShot

UV ToolBox 1.7

This is just a quick tweaked update from my side and it was originally develpled by RenderHJS (http://www.renderhjs.net)

DOWNLOAD

Here are some detail about the Update.

Firts, UV ToolBox 1.7 comes with 3 default checker settings with 2 default checker maps. One of them looks too much in contrast and second one seems to be very dull so i just removed second one and reduced contrast of first one to make it more eye loving.

Original Checker 1

Original Checker 2

Original Checker 2 Tweaked

Second, I love default colors and default selection method of max. So i just revert back all settings to default and make out selection method to vertex in UV Unwrap modifier.

Third, I made out a toolbar icon and script for UV ToolBox 1.7 to access it form a click insted of runscript.

Icon

CUI

Max 2010 Screen

Installation Notes : Unzip all the Content to 3dsmax root folder and overwrite all the files. Done.

Happy Texturing.....

Q: Why hasn't unwrap tools been updated already?
A: It was already pillaged for ideas There is so much redudancy between standard max unwrap and Unwrap Tools it's almost funny. About the only thing that hasn't been rolled in are the nudge tools. They're there, just not as friendly. But its cool that its been updated.

TexTools Button, cool! Oh crap its not the rucksack version... oh well I can change that out.

incorporated the icon and macroscript technique into my TexTools release (your code was a nice help to figure stuff out with the icons):

http://boards.polycount.net/showpost...&postcount=472
I changed the icon though and added a command to refresh the icon cache in 3dsmax (on the installation), otherwise you don't see the icon the first time you customize the GUI and you would have to restart max in order to see the icon- but like I said I found a workaround.

The macroscript closes or re-opens the Floater

Renderhjs: Is your tool based on "UV ToolBox 1.7" or a developing of it? I am asking to know if I get any benefit from installing both kits or just the most recent one, ver2.2.
Edit: Sorry, I was too fast and realized I had not read through the thread which would have informed me that you were the original developer who just made a new release

Smartdevil: It seems like when you switch selection modes either though hotkeys or through max's original panel, the selection mode buttons in the new panel don't get updated. Its a tiny little thing but it would be nice to have that solved.
Also, is it possible to hide the original panel?

And then I wonder, how is that tool supposed to be installed anyway? Should I drag-drop the MCR onto max or is there any other way? Since the filename is Macro_UnwrapUI.mcr which is identical with an original MCR file that comes with max, I assume that there should be a way to override the max-file with the custom one.

Renderhjs: Just encountered a tiny bug in TexTools. When cycling through the checker materials, I get an error. It seems like it was looking for the textures in side \scripts and not scripts\textools where they are actually located.

you need the latest version: 2.24 that bug was fixed there:
http://www.renderhjs.net/bbs/polycou...Tools_2.24.mzp
just drag it again into your viewport- it should replace the older version

and the official thread for texTools is:

Haider of Sweden please rename your original "Macro_UnwrapUI.mcr" to "Macro_UnwrapUI.mcr.bak" and then paste this one "Macro_UnwrapUI.mcr" (the modified one..)

I modified the script to use Max 2010 new UV features that's why bottom panel is there.

Also i am still working on selection bug which will be resolved very soon.. i am slightly busy in office so keep waiting..

One more thing... I have to modify RenderHJS's textools 2.24 once again to give relax to my eyes..via replacing the checker pattern and color theme...

Thanks RenderHJS to incorporate my Icon idea into your beautiful script. It rocks.

Hi Smartdevil.

The link to Unwrap Tools 1.6 no longer seems to be working, is it available elsewhere?

Many thanks for keeping this script going, I use v1.5 every day on Max 2008 and I won't know what to do with myself if I can't use it when the company upgrades to 2010 soon!

I know this is old, but is anybody having issues w/ installing the unwrap tools in max 10 64-bit?.. or are there any updates?.. pasted the macro and the icons in the respective folders, and there's no change to the unwrap UI..

Hey guys, I found this thread again, and realized that I have Unwrap tools version 1.6 SmartDevil made and the link from him is broken.
Sooo.....
Here it is: http://www.bradm3d.com/UnwrapTool_1.6.zip

For some reason this plug-in always disappears over time. I'm going to keep it up FOREVER!
