Thanks guys. Good call.
I sucked his belt in a bit and changed the horn skull thing. Added some stuff too.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Are you gonna do his flowing lock's as well? that may help get the Thor feeling back, or maybe more of the winged helmet design?

It depends on whether you want to run with the Nordic Thor or the Marvel Thor - The original version had red hair and beard, and a magic belt of strength and magic gauntlets to go with his magic hammer.
The Marvel version has the blonde hair, weird round studs on his armour and the winged helm which appears to be taken from the Ring Cycle's version of Brunhilde.
In any case, I'd think as long as he's got his big hammer, he's going to be recognisable as Thor.

Thanks everybody.
@ ScudzAlmighty : Yeah I will probably do his longish hair but I am not sure if it will be braided or free flowing. Probably going to stay away from the girly winged helmet.
@ Jackablade : Thanks, BIG hammer for the win. I think he will be more like the "Nordic Thor".
Still just blocking out.

I absolutely love your style Duncan, say, do you make all the belts, straps and misc. pieces in zbrush as well or are they imported?

Really awesome work duncan. I never get tired of your style. Also I agree with Dylan, the elbows and tricepts really stand out.

Hey everyone.
Thanks for the kind words
Started some strapping. Played with the hair but NOTHING I tried fit him. So I decided to ditch it. Going to stop adding mesh for a while and start sculpting again. Then I will only be adding small bits and pieces as I need them IF I need them. Thinking of adding some spikes to the boots but maybe latter.

Spent some time playing with the straps. I think this is sort of how I am going to go, but I am going to knock back some of the scratches a bit and add some Celtic Knots to them and see how it goes. I hope by Monday I will have something a little more to show.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Looking good. If I may offer a sugestion, I think a huge, exaggerated braid would suit him:

I really dig the hair in Marshal Banana's paintover, I feel it makes him look a lot more Thor-like. I think the design is super cool, but I'm kind of struggling to see it as Thor. I think the combination of his bulky physique and kind of semi-armoured look reminds me more of Marvel's Ares than Thor. Maybe the colour scheme will lessen that impression, I dunno really, but right now I'm not 100% into the idea of this guy as Thor.
