Hello Guys,

We wanted to implement cuttable trees into our UDK game, but
we just cant find a good way - or a way at all..

We originally wanted to have a trunk out of 2 parts, where the top
part would just bend over and fall down, but that dosnt seem to be a good
way.

(I was now thinking about using apex destruction for the yellow
parts so pieces fall out while cutting)

Still we have no idea how we should do it. The trees in crysis are cuttable at any point. And how would you texture it ? Vertex shader ?

Does anyone have any kind of experience with cuttable trees ? any help is greatly appreciated :/

i would also like some idea of how to do this
the first thing that occurred to me was using fracture mesh in udk, it would give similar results to crysis trees but would look like concrete breaking so would need modifying, possibly add a particle effect of splinters and dust to hide the breaks? hmmm
