I was in the need of references for a cargo elevator, sort like the one in the beginning of Hellboy, just bigger, been trying to figure out how they would actually work, but I have a hard time find references, not knowing the best search terms.

Either way, then I was thinking, how come we don't have a reference thread for just these kind of requests, not that people should supply with pictures, but at least help finding good places to find them, or terms to help finding them. And having them all in one thread would make it easier to find them.

We have a lot of different people, who knows different things about different areas, and might know the right words for certain things. Like someone who had worked at a factory might know brands for forklifts etc.

Either way, I will start out with my request for help. I'm looking for large cargo lifts, that isn't attached by wires, but is attached to the wall. Kinda like the large one from the first Hulk and these shots from Hellboy:

Maybe it's dark for a reason (or filmed sideways in miniature)? Looks a bit like a rail car, but on a wall. Maybe the wheels wrap around the track

Ah cheers, yeah I was thinking something like that, however, in this case, I got a space hanger, and wanted to have the lift in the floor, so it goes down to lower hanger/storage.

I think I might make it so two of the walls, a corner, will have the tracks that drives the lift down. This way there should be enough support to keep it steady, even with heavy load, and when it gets to the bottom, there is two sides free, for easy offloading/loading.

Ah I totally missed that sticky for some reason! Sorry about that...doh, and here I thought it was an good idea that for some reason no one had thought about. Shame I can't rename the thread to "Cargo lift reference" or something like that instead now.

I don't remember the lift in Rage, do you remember where it might be? Is it after you drive to the endlevel base (damn, Im still bugged about that ending, it ended WAAAY too fast, when I got to the enemy base, I thought there would be a lot more to do).

Gonna reinstall Rage anyway, might be other places that have some of those setups, or can give me some ideas, cheers.
