Hey polycount! I'm a guy just coming out of grad school and trying to make my way in games as a 3D artist.

C&C appreciated.

Here's something I cooked up in some free time last week.

I did an art test earlier this week. 48 hours to do a high fantasy building in the style of League of Legends. 700-800 triangles and a single hand painted 256 RGBA texture.

And here's the final texture:

I probably could have used my texture budget more wisely, but I think it came out well, all things considered.

The grass looks way to big! Did a great job with everything else though. I cant believe that's only 256x256 o.o

I would change the window colour to yellow, so it looks like there's a glow coming from the inside.

Thanks for the tips!

By grass did you mean the alpha cards near the building or the texture on the ground plane?

The ground wasn't part of the assignment, so I just found a painted grass texture and threw it on there, admittedly pretty sloppily.

I was really unsatisfied with where I left the texture on that house, so I went back and adjusted the UVs so the roof got a bit more attention. Here's the new texture at 512:

And applied to the model at 256:

Alright. Now that I've enjoyed some time being employed, I'm finally making a concerted effort to do some personal art. First up is an MP4. It's a bit of a staple.

And for now I've just blocked in a couple shapes:

More coming soon!

@aaron2 Thanks!

And it's taken me 3 weeks to get back to it. Oh well. I took an hour or so tonight and blocked in some detail around the barrel.
