I am SO excited for this game! Reminds me of Skyrim mixed with Monster Hunter. I hear Capcom has been putting a TON of resources into this game.

This is the sort of game that I feel would greatly benefit with some form of co-op. I have a friend coming round today and this is the kind of game we'd lash up and play together.
I'll still probably get it cause I like the idea of dangerous exploration and the porn (pawn) system.

So demo be out. I'll be getting it later today but what does everyone else think? The celebs people have made so far are amusing

So I tried it out (PS3) and I have to say the fighting is fun and very unforgiving but the more times I tried, the better I got. I love rogue classes so I went for that and it's just my style, fast with long range bow.
The framerates...are quite poor on PS3 but it's something I've come to accept with PS3 games. I'd guess it was running 19fps in the prologue and 24 in the open fields. Early build...yeah I know but I've heard that excuse before.
Anyway give it a go. I just wish the demo had more exploration as that seems to be the main driving force. What was wrong with adding just one question from point A to B.

played through the quests on the demo at least 4 times now... fucking... love it.
All my misgivings of it being unresponsive or odd are gone, feels really slick. My only complaint is dat hud... but thankfully you can turn off everything (pawn subtitles, cinematic events, controller button help), and its starts feeling really cool.
Groaned a few times at the demon/dark souls "vibe" riffing, but whatever.
it feels essentially like Monster Hunter + Demons/Dark Souls.... so awesome. Can't wait to play as specific classes, the magic users seem fun. The ranger class in the gryphon fight is really fun, like the choices of bow vs daggers. The prologue quest character was kinda meh, bland. I wanted to skin the things i killed too, I dont think that'll be in the full game, but it just screams to let me pluck the gryphon feathers or cut off its beak.
its going to be a hard choice to play either Diablo 3 or this... ffffffffffffuuuuuu

So, I've checked the demo out and...... some questionable design decisions :/ The interface is a real mess for a start and good luck trying to figure out what's actually happening during combat. Bah, the Japanese seem to be about 5 years behind current game design. They very occasionally get it right as in Dark Souls, Persona, FF13-2. It's old school only because they can't think of anything better to do. Trying way too hard to pander to a western audience yet remaining stuck firmly in the past. I may still actually get this though as I've been looking forward to it for ages and the mish-mash of east and west might actually bring me some joy.

Turn the HUD off, the cinematic events, and on screen buttons off in the main menu options. Makes it 10000x better.

I was completely incorrect with my first statement :/. I've played the demo through probably 5-6 times now and it's completely aweseome. Once the combat clicked and I realised you could climb onto the bosses. You can even create a character whose eyes are both shut! Epic!

Played it and thought it was kind of neat, nothing world-shattering. The boss fights got painfully boring, though, as they have of a lot of health and it gets to the point where you just mash your attack button nonstop for about 10 minutes.

As with jumping (I hate it when a game doesn’t let me jump)... all games should just adopt the ability to jump on/hang onto creatures. That was my favorite part of the Gryphon fight

I really enjoy the over the topness feel of the game! Reminds me of Monster Hunter in some ways. I feel like this game is sort of Capcom's way of trying to get the west to finally play a Monster Hunter type game. . . and i think it might work! I think it's interesting you can make children. I made my character to look like Aria Stark, and my companion into Jorah mormont.
