The deadline for this isn't for 19 more days. Now is the perfect time for a sweeping change! It would be much worse if it was due in 12 hours.
There is always more to learn.

So long as that face in the middle is changed to a more Darksiders style then it's a good axe.

I get the feeling a red/black colour scheme would suit this.

The skull in the center looks very natural, you might want to try for more of the Darksider style skull shown from Bobo's livestream: http://www.livestream.com/vigilnight...5-4c820a55e9d2

Other than that I really like the concept. Have you thought about some asymmetry? One blade higher than the other, one skull laughing, one screaming, or even just different damage? I think it could really add to the piece.

the blade shape looks like its coming along well, your sculpt looks blobby and unfinished so I assume people arent sure wether to crit yet. Look at this guys sculpt for an example of a really solid sculpt that suits the game style http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95848

I think you've got something solid starting on the right side there. Think about taking the three spurs you have on the top of the axe blade and mirroring them on the bottom half. The chin of the monster jaw could even become one of the spurs.
