those tree textures look like they tile a bit too much and dont seem to have enough larger shapes to lead the eye around them. They seem overpowered by small scale details.

Iciban - I did all myself mostly using this technique.
Just did some grass tonight and gathered some ref for the remaining foliage. I'm hoping that this unique foliage will break up the background hedges and the rocks. Here's my reference from PSO:

This is coming along very nicely. Your trees look really great. I'm looking forward to seeing more foliage to liven up the scene.

that is looking great, are characters your thing too? would be great to see one in the scene just to help composition of the final shots

Thanks, for the references I was playing PSO Blue Burst. You can get on a private server to play it these days.
And unfortunately, characters are very far from my thing so that'd be out of my scope. At the moment, I'm just about done with this scene. All I have left is some finishing stuff, a few fixes, and addressing any feedback I get here.

I'd love to walk around that level, I just wish there was something that gave a stronger sense of human scale, currently the only thing is the terminal display.

I kept coming back to check the updates and I have to say. I'm always blown away by the level of detail you put in. Not to mention lighting is amazing too. Pretty much everything is amazing. XD

This is pure genius. It kind of makes me want to stop wasting time in UDK and make the Phantasy Star Online system, which would actually be incredibly fun to do. But real life takes up my time so I wouldn't be able to. I love the detail put into these. I hope I get the chance to work with you or someone as half as good as you.

ZacD - Thanks, yeah, I agree that the scale is a little ambiguous. I think that stems from the original game where it felt as though everything was a bit larger than I had expected when I went to get ref, with the exception of the terminal.
Thank you for, the compliments everyone, I was playing around with making a video last night, but I'm having some capture issues. Maybe I'll get that worked out. Either way, I'm very pleased that I managed to do a project that improved both my organic and hardsurface skills, but more importantly that I FINISHED something. Cheers!
