Great work Eoq!

"blued" 1911 (for which your advice is likely well taken) http://www.coltautos.com/images/1911...G_7669_new.jpg
and a parked 1911 http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...xl17/45RR1.jpg , which is what he's working on.
hahaha OR unless he's not actually trying to make it look like it's parkerized, then i'ma just shut up

I was talking about the shell, which he was having issues with. I agree for the matte finish on the gun, that part is fine, but the copper/brass are not reading right and he can probably get it much closer if he starts from a better base diffuse/spec.
I didn't know that matte finish was called parkerized though, so I learned something

Still early, I just want to see how I'm doing on the likeness. Younger people are much harder to capture. Can you guess?

I love z brush but sometimes I get too carried away with different variations due to the fact it so easy to edit your sculpt into a different direction :P
Changed his head for the better... I think ...

Haha Thanks Jessica. I updated my site with more. Just checked out your portfolio. Fantastic environments! Looove that cow BTW. Keep it going!
I've been hacking away at my project. Close to finishing this guy (names Art). After him I'm on to his girl and then their background scenery. Should be fun!

from basemesh, better part of the evening to this state. also first real crack at a female model. not sure who this is yet. tomorrow refine general anatomy, details (fingernails and more wrinkles etc) i think. havent been in zbrush for over a month, this was a lot of fun.

ALL done in maya? How did you model the rocks? o_O

Here's some sorta old-school worn sci-fi doorpanel I'm working on. What kinda sucks is that as soon as I turn on the emissive map, the keypad looks all flat. Any advise on how to create a nice illuminatede keypad and don't lose all the normalmap detail?
