Here are the progress pics. I want to make sure the textures right first before I apply a normal, ambient occlusion and specular map.

The texture looks too grunge and too cloudy. If you look at the concept art, dirt are more subtle. I would suggest this: use a grey base color and then overlay some metal pictures, with a low opacity, then have fun with dirt brush!

Use some texture beveling. See the picture for what I mean
(just a quick example so it doesn't look that good, but you can see what I mean)
