Aloha polycounters,

This is my first post in the forum and I would like to share my current wip and hopefully get some valuable crits from you guys (and girls).

I am making this bulky bloke for a uni module (body modelling). The anatomy and the flow of the form is more important than clothes and accessories for now but a brief about this character was necessary. This guy is supposed to be a member of the Skogsfolk which is a race of anthropomorphic forest dwelling bipeds. His job is to carry logs (and huge guns to fight off constant human invasion ) . His anatomy must be justified by his role in the ‘’game ‘’ that is why I made his back, delts and traps highly developed.

And a close upper body shot;

Cheers everybody.

Looks pretty good!!! I especially like the back and buttocks area.
BUT, I would randomise his abs a little bit because they look too symmetrical at the moment.

I love the face, awesome character, his hands really look like they could pound someone into submission, but he looks like a gentle creature

Thank you guys for your comments.

7mch- You ve got a very good point there. So, I randomised the abs a little bit and now it looks so much better(i think). Cheers for that.

JustinPunio-
Cheers mate. I am looking forward to it, too.

DDuckworth- Glad you liked it. It’s funny that you mention that he seems gentle because when I was making the concept sketch of the face I wanted it to look kinda docile but huge and intimidating at the same time. So, I guess that’s a plus.

By the way ,here’s the concept. I tried to keep close to it but changed the nose because he kinda looked like a pig in Zbrush.

Thanks Oniram. Though ,correct me if I am wrong, the trolls were kinda agressive looking creatures. I intended to make him look more gentle than mosterous like Dduckworth noticed above.

Thanks ,everyone, for the comments!

I am done retopologizing this guy (tryed to match the silhoulette as close as possible). I have prepared some real time renders in marmoset so again , you know, say whatever you think about it.

Turnable thingy:

Sculpting is great but the textures aren't doing the model justice.

ps: uploaded image quality is a little too low. Not sure who your with but you should be able to get away with anything <1mb at photobucket for example.

GCMP, I disagree.
The paint over that you did is too saturated and doesn't look natural. The glowing eyes don't really suit the character's purpose. He is supposedly a gentle creature, not some oversized vampire

I agree, i think the textures made suit the models purpose. He looks like he cold beat the crap out of you but will very rarely fight. I like it a lot.

Cool, Thank you guys for the crits and the non-crits. But yeah, in my opinion the skin should stay on its level of saturation.
