Not necessarily steam punk. Not ruling it out, but I need to draw before I settle on the direction I want to go in. I'm just getting a lot of mask inspiration from Bob Basset's Journal, one of my favorite references for mean looking leather stuff

No art yet, but I got a little time to organize my thoughts. This is an important step, so I'm not flying blind. No pun intended.

Good choice to avoid steampunk! Really love the new art direction, curious what you will come up with. I think voldo is one of the most disturbing fighting characters

Atilla, it's from Bob Basset. I posted a link to him earlier in this thread.

it'll be really hard to top voldos already OTT design- good luck-
2-5-17-all make sense
19 intrigues me- its like taking voldos persona and flipping it- instead of being limber and what-not he's super bulky and spiky- you have some tough choices ahead of you haha

5 - 10 & 18 grabbed my attention
5: I like the silhouet in general 10: the hanging 'idols' or quite cool 18: I love the static figure in contrast with the real voldo

I'm really really diggin' 17. If memory serves, Voldo's backstory is something along the lines of a servant/personal guard sort of thing, after his master having "passed" - guarding some sort of treasure. 17 keeps a feeling of someone who might be in servitude to something or someone, to me.
Also, I dig the hell out of how you've actually noticed and kept in mind the buttcheeks. There are some things to these characters people are doing that should absolutely persist in spite of their reinvention. And Voldo's buttcheeks are one of those things.

I can't wait to see what you produce.
it's just a thought. But considering how flexible and thin voldo is, may be nice to see a bigger more chubby version. so number 7 did appeal to me.

Hey Dustin I say 2-5-16

17, it catches the eye more compared to the rest, and still has the voldo look enough where You could have some real fun re-creating him.

6, 10,11, and 15 peak my interest. Though I look at 10 and think Screaming Mantis from MGS4, which isn't a bad thing.
great work thus far.
aside; Voldo plus Alice in Wonderland would be trippy and creepy.
