Hey yall.. jumpin' in a little late, but well on my way. I didn't scan in my concept yet, but I have a sketch done too.. I'm pulling most of my ref from Legacy at this point, and I would like to design a light cycle as well. Do I need to start a separate thread for that too? or should I just go for it?

nice work so far, liking the soles of the boots - if textured right these could work well.
Might want to extend the length of the thighs (is this the challenge of little legs?) - they are probably human size but a little exaggeration can go a long way.

cool Thanks Hawken.. yeah some exaggeration in the legs would work great.. over-extending that "S" curve would look really dynamic too.

The overall shapes and silhouette are interesting, really solid.
I'm waiting to see more texture WIP ^^
Good luck

here's an updated version of my guy.. only had time to make some new maps tonight: refined diffuse, added emissive, and specular maps.. using the 3 point light shader to show them in real time-- hope that's legal in terms of presentation..

Looking rad, duder. TBH, I think I almost like it more without the emissive textures. Like if you actually painted in some glow to the straight diffuse, it might look better. The emissive sort of blows out the lighting, making it just look glowy instead of coming from a real light source.

more updates.. rigged.. playing w/ cool poses.. there are issues w/ the rig, but I'm doing my best on that...
@ Joshua-- hey man.. I hear ya on the glowiness. the texture bleeds out a bit and the texture get's a little muddy... It has a bit to do w/ the shader I'm using.. I will probably end up going back to my original standard Max shader and work w/ that.. the effect looks the most solid.. I'm using the 3Point shader to play w/ getting my specular map working.. I think the effect looks cool, but it kinda goes against the comp rules a bit w/ the pixel blending (if i'm even saying that right.. I'm not sure)

yup nice drawing,
you could squeeze out another 20-60 tris by removing some of the symmetry generated edges at the center especially inside the wheels. Don't waste the triangles ;)

Word Render..
yeah I was debating whether or not to get rid of those tris in the wheels.. turns out the UVs fit just fine in my layout w/o having to go crazy and redo a whole lot.. I was even able to fix some proportions to the bike and match it closer to the concept w/o even going over 1k tris..i'm at 986 tries now
