Ive just started to learn the topology tools inside zbrush (and so far they seem pretty awesome)

I have a few questions though.

firstly, is it possible to turn on some kind of backfacing filter, because the topology i've already created behind the part im trying to retopoligize makes it really confusing since you get like two meshes overlapping sort of.

also, Is it possible to move already placed vertices while keeping them glued to the surface of my base mesh? like when you place new vertices, they get automatically aligned to the surface of my mesh, but if i move them, they go all around the place.

Are you update to date on your version? I think v4 might have had issues showing both sides of the new wireframe, but later versions have had the backside heavily grayed out making it easier to see the front faces.

Moving verts should also align to the surface by default unless you drag them off the model and into document space.

well the backside is SLIGHTLY saturated as you can see in this pic:

but the real problem is that my pointer snaps to the vertices on the backside, making accurate placement of new verts practically impossible.

Yeah, that looks like the z4 behavior. R2/R2b the back-facing lines were a darker gray making it easier to distinguish:

any idea if r2b fixed the snapping to backfacing vertices? and can it be disabled in z4?

Moving aligns for me automatically on r2b, but as far as I know it has always worked correctly for me. I've seen someone else recently say they can't get it to snap either, but I'm not sure what version they were on.

Edit: I misread your question. In r2b the cursor doesn't snap to the backfacing ones, trying to click on them results in rotating the model as if you clicked on the document.
