Here's the newest and greatest minecraft server ip/urls.. they all get you to the same place:

74.207.224.139 [updated 082511]
minecraft.polycount.com
mc.polycount.com

This is the linux box for those who have been fussing with it over the last couple days. This will be the current server for the foreseeable future. Any additional ip changes will get listed back in the thread and I'll update this spot too.

The world isn't even 24 hours old and already the place is built out

if you have mod requests or what not, place them in here. I've also made a couple people admins so we can repair the damage to the spawn area by creepers. They were digging a hole in the middle of a pond. Not so good to spawn into.

oh.. and stickeied the thread.

Whitelist would be cool. Think there were a few suggestions in the minecraft thread.

Mod Suggestions:

- BUKKIT < Needs to be installed for a lot of mods to work
- DynMap - Live google-maps like map which shows player location, etc.
- Permissions - Let's you set who can do what. Such as the admin, mod, etc. players, as well as working alongside other mods well.
- Lockette - Chest/Door locking.
- BigBrother - Anti-Griefing/Block History/etc.

On another note, I play quite a bit of Minecraft, and providing the server remains active/well-kept I'll be sticking to this server. If you need anyone to help moderate, feel free to admin/op me: Lolamuffin (yeah, i know, terrible name!)

Edit: Also worth mentioning Essentials and WorldEdit

Depends if you want any megabuilds going on (i like doing those). Also makes repairing/undoing commands possible, as well as various other quick-build tools. Probably something to keep to only admins though.

Also, the lag is pretty damn BAD. Just died because the server hadn't kept up with my movements, so I lost full iron armour and an inventory full of items

I was noticing a lot of re-appearing blocks and big delays between attacking enemies and them actually getting hurt when I played last night.

Great to see the server back up but its very very laggy for me (UK). I hardly ever got lag on the last map and if it did lag it was very minor.

Has the server changed?

Whitelist and chest locking would be good. Anything to stop griefing.

Dude, r13 you need to do something about this lag and get a whitelist on here. I logged in and there are massive lavafall griefs all around the spawn and my base in particular. Then the lag is stopping me from moving to get inside my house to make some water buckets...

I know it's laggy, noted.

It's in a cloud server environment, so if the same box gets hit, then we suffer. Also, I'm currently running the server in the least efficient way. It's also the easiest to set up... but yah, I will be working on that first. I'll also plan on discussing the latency issue with the provider and see what if any options are.

Right now it's also sitting on a windows server, which is slower than a linux box... notice when i said easiest to set up? that included the actual box. So my plans are to work on this as i can this week.

I will definitely look at mods as well once I get the sever running properly out of the .jar file instead of the exe.

as for the lava griefing... thats not griefing. thats my mountain. at least the mountain of lava that drops into the pit is mine. if you are the guy that set up that lil tower at the foot of it... sorry about that. XD I definitely spent a lot of time diverting it around your place. But as for the griefing, yes, i'm not happy either. someone came along and stole doors and furnaces from my mountain already. Some of the easiest things to make... and they come along and steal them from me.

So yah absolutely gonna get some anti-griefing mods, cause I've got an itchy ban hammer that needs to be fed.

I forgot the mods name but there was one that lets the admin set a limit on how far you can travel from spawn - that would help prevent bloat from people just wandering in one direction for hours.

Yeah I logged on quite a lot yesterday and noticed a lot of my stuff kept going missing lost like 25 iron ingots. We def need some anti griefing mods.

Thanks again for taking the time to set this server up.
