[Dota2] – Beastmaster – Red Talon
Hey guys, I'm working with a buddy of mine (jameshall) on a new item set for the Beastmaster.
We'll keep updating as we go, but here are some early iterations of what we're thinking: Update 12/3/12, final version!! WIP is below that. Special thanks to LeoJr :) http://imageshack.us/a/img11/1799/re...nguyenhall.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img844/5899/d...terhallngu.jpg update 10-21-12: This is the one we're going with for now, what do you guys think? http://imageshack.us/a/img18/5899/do...terhallngu.jpg 10/24/12 Update: http://imageshack.us/a/img209/5847/wip01a.jpg Update: 10/27/12 - Still messing with the skull on his belt.. James is making a new weapon so we'll have that done hopefully this week. Going to move onto the bracers soon. http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9649/wip03.jpg Update 10/31/12: I did 2 versions of the fur and the centerpiece for the belt...Not sure which one I want to go with. I'm worried the fur on the back will be too noisy with the war-horn (once I make it). http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/9786/wip04.jpg update 11/4/12 - Here are the axes James made; I'm probably gonna go with 1, and add the feathers from 5. We were gonna do a weapon piece for the shoulder as well, but the geometry count is running high, so I'm using the rest on some bigger feathers around the mantle. http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/4366/wip05.png Update 11/6/12 - Moving on now since time is winding down. Working on the low poly models for the body. http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/1061/wip05c.jpg Last sculpting update before baking. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/4225/wip07.jpg |
Really liking V1! Good luck!
Hey all, here is the concept we're goin with.
(Edited to add to the top post) |
Looks good!
Amazing!
You could make the hood lift a bit on the sides since he has horns. Doing really well though so keep it up
V1 looks amazing. I think an interesting idea would be if the horns impaled thru the hood.
yeah hopefully later today or tomorrow we'll have the animals armor designs done.
Awesome, he maybe needs a bigger shoulder
Updated with the zbrush sculpt. Once I do the hanging belt I'll probably size it up depending on how it reads from far away.
Nice concepts!
Imo you need to change the shape of those axes enormously because they are an exact replicate of the "Malevolent Gladiators Hacker" from World of Warcraft.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/item/85132 Yea i can see you changed some designs slightly, but try not to restrict yourself to mimicking other items that are already created. You are a good artist and you can probably make something better than that axe. Using your own imagination is the greatest quality a artist can have. |
updated with the new sculpt. James is drawing up a new weapon so we should get that in soon.
Nice one guys
is good to see a lot of people doing beast master sets =] |
Thanks everyone for the replies :) Beastmaster is actually pretty fun to work on. I updated with where I'm at now, but I'm still deciding which fur and which skull to go with. I also need to make the hanging war-horn on his belt, so I'm worried it might get messy with the noisy fur.
Just make the fur details simple enough to read and big just don't put so many and you should be fine. Looking good, go go go.
Just updated the sculpt. I've started on the low-poly armor, but i still need to do the weapon and add something over his default sleeve
Updated for the final submission. Final touch ups all done. Wish everyone the best of luck.
Looks like you made it, congrats!
HUURRRGGH, I can't believe it! Thanks everyone, I'm honored just to be considered with all the other great entries...Wow.
Congrats to everyone who even finished, because I didn't think I was going to in the hours leading to submission :O w00t |
Woohoo!
