[DotA2] - Dazzle - Tribal Priest
Finished!
http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...azzleSet-1.jpg Hey guys, I'm going to do a set for Dazzle. Im going for a more native priest/dark shaman kind of thing. I've tried to keep Dazzle's mohawk silhouette with a big shaggy mane on his wolfs cloak. http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4804e3f3.jpg I'm not much of a concept artist, so there will probably be a lot of tweaking once I get into modelling. |
Nice, quite a unique look for Dazzle! Keep in mind though that you might have to model all the spiky stuff if Dazzle doesn't support alpha maps.
|
Started doing some sculpting tonight.
I'm really not digging how the mane is looking, so I I'm going to give it another go tomorrow night. Any tips on how to do the mane would be great! http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3f157315.jpg http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...psd4ca2ba0.jpg |
Worked on the cloak tonight. I'm wondering if it's a little too busy? Maybe I need to simplify the tuffs of fur.
http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2f84dadb.jpg What do you guys think, the smaller cloak on the left or the bigger one on the right? http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...ps96efc8d2.jpg |
fur should be fine once its all painted it up. keeping it a dark colour like purple will keep it subdued.
i'd go with the one on the right. it helps accentuate dazzles natural hunch |
Nearly finished with the sculpt, just need to do some feathers and some fur cleanup. Should be able to go onto remeshing tomorrow.
I decided to do something different for the lower body than what I was originally going to do. I'm rather happy with this new design. http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...psf8561650.jpg http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...ps94be6c3d.jpg I've been thinking of ideas for a new weapon, but I might wait until I've finished the costume completely first, incase I run out of time or something. |
Ok, finished the sculpt. Going to start remeshing today.

I'm really liking this one. I play Dazzle all the time and would love to see this In-game.
|
Thanks Vrbas, I'm glad you are liking it.:)

Thought I should give a quick update on where I was at with this.
Finishing off textures at the moment, should be done by tomorrow. Then I want to start on a staff weapon. http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...uickUpdate.jpg Very quick render in maya using PINS_012 Dota shader for Maya. I couldn't get the Normal to display which is why it isn't showing in this screen. http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...up/forryan.jpg And a quick test of the cloak in the engine with an older darker purple. |
Another update.
Just finished the staff. I need to tweak the textures on it a little, I'm going to make the wood darker. And I've got to finish the masks, and alpha on it. Other than that I'm pretty much done with the textures and masks. The black on the skirt is where the transparancy is. Once textures are completely done, just gotta finish off the skinning and then do some nice presentation shots. http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...ateTexture.jpg |
It looks nice, however I think you should mix another color in with the purple fur on his back and arm. It feels like a bit to much purple.
|
Yeah, you are probably right.
I might add some sort of pattern to the back. |
Not necessarily a pattern. The contrast between the highlight and shadow needs to be greater. It is looking really flat as is.
|
Cheers, I'll fiddle around with that tomorrow and try to get a better contrast.
|
Finished, WOOOHOO

SO MUCH PURPLE! Looks good tho, maybe just change the back ground of the presentation a bit! :)
|
I think the purple in the background was a little overwhelming. I"ve desaturated it now.
|
Congrats! Great idea and great execution, it looks really nice in game.
|
Congrats on making the top 10! Wwwoooooo!
|
Congratulations! Very unique set with great execution!
