Hey Polycount. I'm working on a Retro style radio and I can't think of what to add to the texture to make it more interesting. My first instinct as a newbie is to grunge-it-up, but the diner that I'm going to place it in isn't supposed to be a complete dive.

I was thinking of maybe taping a photograph of a singer to the side or adding a mustard splatter, but I'm not sure if that would read right or look like a desperate attempt at adding more shit to the texture.

How do you make plastic and chrome look more interesting when they aren't old and grungy?

Can you post some wires of this prop? That seems like an awfully high tri count for such a small prop.

Err yea, I guess there is quite a bit there that could be optimized.

The silhouette on the sides is done with only 3 edgeloops but your round things are done with what, 40? They have next to no effect on the way it looks in the game world. Same goes for the rest of the silhouette, you've used all of your polygons in places that don't really matter.

The speakers with the wires for example could have just been made with a flat cylindrical shape with normal maps. You seem to have the high to low poly principles down but need to work a bit on the polygon distribution. :)

That better?

EDIT: Didn't notice PLing (http://www.polycount.com/forum/member.php?u=37148)'s comment. Gonna fix that
