Hello Polycount community. I'm a new artist still trying to get the fundamentals down to modeling (mostly in 3ds max). So far I've gotten fairly decent at polygon modeling, and the only thing Ive done for textures so far is to throw some basic Diffuse maps on and thats that. Texturing is the one thing I've had trouble with. I've tried to find tutorials on how to, persay, create a detailed texture for the head of a hammer that has imbeddings around the edges (creating the normal map won't be an issue.). So my question is, is there a particular tutorial or somewhere I can go to help me learn the basics of creating textures? Or is it pretty much just based off of trial and error?
