Hello everyone, how are you today?

I am just starting out with Zbrush and managed to sculpt a terrain, since I have little time to sculpt the whole thing with details and everything in one go I saved it as a ZTool and kept iterating over it.
As I followed this tutorial (https://picasaweb.google.com/102959028404284142691/ZBrush3PolyPaintingTutorialI#slideshow/5325725061045844130), it says at step 14 that I need to go back to my first Subdivision. Now when I load my ZTool up the Subdivision option is grayed out and there is no subdivisions. I tried to load a different tool, same thing.

I am pretty sure I have made 3-4 Subdivisions since it currently sits at 262K. Is there no way I can go back to Subdivision 1? If that is the case, what shall I do now to bake the high poly model onto a low poly model?
Oh, the whole model has been made in ZBrush, I haven't imported a low poly model from anywhere else, I started off with a 3D Plane in ZBrush.

Thank you very much.

Saving a tool should normally save the subdivisions (.ztl, not .obj). Perhaps you accidentally hit 'del lower' when aiming for the slider, which would delete the lower subdivision levels (leaving only the current one behind, which would also let you UV like the tutorial wanted).

You could try Tool: Geometry: Reconstruct Subdiv to see if you can restore any of the lower levels

I tried to load the tool multiple times, even close and re-open Zbrush, it doesn't bring them. I am sure I haven't saved after I faced the problem, so it shouldn't save "deleting" the lower Subdivisions.

I loaded the tool again and used the button you mentioned, it produced 1 Subdivision with a total of 2. (1 with active points 66K and the other 262K, which I am at currently).

I am fairly sure I have subdivided it 5 times (I have just tried in ZBrush, to get 262K it is 5 divisions).

What happens if you hit the button a few more times?

I can't, once I click it once, it grays out and I can't click it again.

Hmmm... actually, I think I might have solved it... maybe someone can shed a light over the implications of what I have done.

Basically what I did is I used that button once and it grayed out as usual. Saved the tool with 2 subdivisions then I loaded it again and used the button again and saved it with 3 subdivisions. Repeated that until I went down to 1.6K and 5 subdivisions like the original.

I am wondering however, is this a valid method or will that break my model if I continue doing anything on it?

Thank you very much Cryrid! :)
