Max 2012 quad menu broken?

So randomly on Friday I starting having an issue where right clicking has decided it no longer wishes to bring up my quad menu. Has any one ever encountered this before (This is not the bug where the quad menu appears but then flickers off)?

Now if I control+right click, or alt+right click, I still get those quad menus, but the default refuses to function. And everything works correctly in Max 2010 and other software (ruling out a hardware issue hopefully). I also tried restarting Max and my PC several times, as well as reverting to the default UI.

Now I'm just hoping someone here can point out something stupid that I've missed, before I pull my hair out and reinstall Max altogether. :'(

Happened to me - reinstalling max fixed it

Tried reinstalling. Did not work. Tried switching mouse. Did not work.

Very irritating.

Are there some sort of files that get left behind when you uninstall that could be causing this?

it can't hurt to get rid of em

also it could be weird mouse drivers or other crap that gets installed with some hardware - some of them don't play nice with max, ATI catalyst used to come with a "useful" mouse enhancement thingy that ruined viewport navigation in max

have you tried going to customize interface>quads>and hitting reset? I have solved quad menu problems with that before.
